Honda gives up pursuing success in MotoGP 2022, already thinking about the 2023 season

Had started the 2022 MotoGP with the third podium achieved by Pol Espargaro at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, after this moment, the Repsol Honda team was destroyed.

Starting from the decline in Pol Espargaro's performance, Marc Marquez operated on his right arm for the fourth time and the peak in the German MotoGP series, no Honda RC213V rider, both factory and satellite got points.

The series of facts above make Honda have given up on pursuing success in MotoGP 2022. This was revealed by Honda boss, Alberto Puig.

Think MotoGP 2023

Puig said Honda's current focus is how to create a competitive RC213V motorcycle in MotoGP 2023 and bounce back next season.

"The goal of this team is to win championships, not races," said Alberto Puig.

"Let's think about next year and have a competitive bike from day one."

Puig's position is threatened

The problem is that Alberto Puig's own position is in danger of being shifted as manager of the Repsol Honda team.

The issue of threatening Alberto Puig's position has emerged in recent days. It is said that his position will be taken over by former Suzuki manager, Davide Brivio.

Puig answered skeptically about the issues above. "This news is not something that worries me. I'm just worried that the team's bike isn't working properly," said Puig.
